So let’s say you took my suggestion in my last blog post, and have been using the practice of envisioning what you want, and how it will feel to have it, in great detail. You’ve seen how it can motivate you to stay the course when you think you’d rather quit. It really helps to keep inspiring yourself, right?

Where you used to feel like Sisyphus faced with the hopeless task of pushing that boulder up that impossible hill, now you can picture yourself in the dip between mountain peaks. And you can see that the next upward slope will lead you to the pinnacle if you just choose to keep climbing.

“Ok,” you say, “I do feel inspired all right. But how do I find the strength to keep climbing?” Great question – and the answer is not some “universal truth” out there, some magic pill or secret mantra that will work for everyone. Each one of us has to find out what it takes for US to stay committed through the tough times until we achieve our goals.

There is a saying that goes ‘If you’re going through hell – keep going.”

It sounds strange – I mean, who would choose to continue to suffer rather than quit and alleviate the pain?

But implicit in the saying is the idea that a very determined person would choose to keep going through hell, in order to come out the other side and achieve the result they want. That person might declare, “If that’s what it takes, then that’s what I’m gonna do – ‘cause nothing’s gonna stop me!

Right now you may be thinking, “But that’s not me!” I would never choose to suffer if I know I can wave a white flag and bail out!”

That’s a very honest and understandable reaction to facing some hardship you could avoid. But surrendering could also mean giving up on a dream that really matters to you! Is that what you really want, to sell yourself out just to avoid being uncomfortable for a while?

What is Your Perfect Person Like?

Do you have a ‘perfect person’ in mind?

When you think about who you would like to spend the rest of your life with, what do you see? Are there certain physical attributes that you would like in that person? Do you want them to be outgoing and social, or shy and reserved? Some people spend a lot of time thinking and manifesting their future someone, which is great! You hope to be with that person for quite awhile, right?

There are so many characteristics both physical and emotional that make one person attracted to another person. And those ‘ideal’ traits are different for everyone! What makes someone special to you might be the opposite of what another person is looking for in a mate.

The trick is, there is no right or wrong ‘thing to look for’ – we have to figure out what really matters to us. There’s a little bit of trial-and-error involved in fine-tuning it, but it’s well worth the effort – we all deserve to find that ideal person, so why not manifest exactly who we want him or her to be?

3 Ways to Love Yourself More

As I point out in my book “Before You Love Again,” we all have the power to create a life full of love. We have that power because we embody love. “We are the love we are seeking from someone else”.

But how do we get in touch with that love? How do we take control of that power? Here are three ways to love yourself – even just a little bit more.

  1. Make your health and wellness a priority. There is undeniable confidence and happiness that comes along with feeling good about yourself and the way that you look. If you are not feeling satisfied with your body image or find yourself suffering from health conditions that may damper your mood, the best thing you can do for yourself is try to change it. Seeing a holistic nutritionist who can make sure you’re eating right and learning what physical exercises you enjoy are all ways to achieve this. Learn to enjoy preparing foods that will make you feel good on the inside and out. Discover new methods of healing your mind and body that will make you happy.

  2. Get in touch with your passions. When we were young it was our job to discover our favorite things about life. We could paint, read, play – but as adults our lives are filled with so much duty and responsibility. It’s easy to lose touch with the things we really enjoy!
